Empathy

A mother is only as happy as her most miserable child.
Why must this be so?

Probably because there's some little invisible string that connects a mother's heart to each of her children before they're even born. It's impossible for her to know they're hurting and not feel it, too. They don't talk about it much in anatomy classes because 1) it's hard to see and 2) it's really hard to find until one of those children is hurting and no one wants to create that pain more often than necessary. Trust me, it's really there, though. You must be a good mom to have yours working so well. Is it ok to say "I'm sorry" and "Congratulations" all in the same breath?

I imagine it's because mother's put their children's happiness in front of their own from the moment they become mothers.

I was a mother whose heart broke when her babies cried, and as those babies grew, it still breaks when they cry. You are such a good Mom, Julie, hugs to you and your kiddo.

I always ask myself that and then wonder how God does it with all of us down here. Of course with every test I took in school I always wondered why they had to make it so stinkin hard. Good vibes sent your way :)
