Ever feel so sick that all you can do is lie in bed and stare at the freckles on your arm?
I have. I am.
I started connecting those freckle-dots in childhood during my numerous strep throat infections. The habit reappeared for the first four months of each of my pregnancies. This week the visual exercise returned due to a cold that is perhaps the worst I have had in my 47 years.
You'd think that by now I would have already entertained all the cold viruses out there, but noooooo. This one had to introduce itself on Thanksgiving night. I ignored it the best I could. Family was in town for one thing!
Monday, however, it tackled me hard and once again I lie staring blankly at those freckle-dots feeling like I was going to die.
A few rounds of solitaire is just about the only thing I can muster in between freckle staring.
My sick bed companion doesn't have freckles. Trying to find something to count on him gives me an even greater headache.
Come on antibodies. Do your thing. I'm sick of being sick.

I hope you feel better soon... I am on antibiotics right now too... ick! (But not for the cold I got over the week before Thanksgiving - something else).
You should take a bubble bath. There were some days when I was sick a couple of weeks ago that I actually took two a day! They really do help! I'm sorry you're so sick. Good thing though... you should be well long before Christmas gets here! :)
Feel better soon. I've had a cold for 10 days but it's keeping itself holed up in the back of my throat. Hope it says there and is hunted out by those antibodies. (I'm wondering if they keep forgetting to check the back of my throat!)
That is really miserable! All my kids are fevered and cranky right now and they are freckle-less, so maybe that's a contributing factor to their bad moods.
I totally look for constellations and shapes in my arm freckles when I'm pregnant/sick!
Oh sorry Julie! I hope you feel well soon. I'm still working out my new normal since being sick for almost a month. I feel for ya.
Ugh...I came down with the same thing at almost the exact same time! I love the connect the freckle story. I hope you begin to feel better very, very soon! See if you can get someone to make you delicious soup.
Being sick is no fun! I hope you aren't connecting the freckle dots with sharpie marker! :)
Hope you feel better really soon~
Shoot. Why do we all seem to get sick around the holidays when we have so much to do? I wish those germs would just stay away!
Get well soon, okay?
=)
I'm sorry that you're not well. Hoping your feeling better - MUCH better- very soon.
(And thank Heaven for freckles, i Phones, antibodies and cuddly kitties!)
haha. You're hilarious. This made me laugh out loud!
And on a side note, I had David read this and his one comment was: "She sounds like you."
Well, if that is the case, what a compliment.
So how many freckles do you have?
Thinking of you, feel better soon.
Just think of how grateful you'll feel when you are well again. That's how it's been with us. We're all just recently recovered from a stomach bug. You'll be due for some serious pleasure after all of that pain!
Hope you start feeling better soon. We have been sick here as well. Solitaire has been essential.
Oh goodness, well that just plain SUCKS! It seems like the older I get the harder sickness hits. Here's to praying for those antibodies.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon!
I hope you are feeling better!!!!
Freckle dots.....cute!
At least you had some solitaire and a feline. He looks pretty comfy!
Julie, keep an eye on that cold. My SIL has had "the worst cold [she's] ever had," and it turned in pneumonia REALLY fast. If you're feeling that bad, I hope you've seen a doctor.
Get well soon, either way!!
XOXOXOX
I hope you mend quickly! The bugs these days can be really rotten.

WORST time of the year to be sick! I hope you are better by the time you see this comment! Love IPHONE apps. I am down in bed today because I hurt my back lifting a much too heavy item. Justs needs to heal!
