Could it be the summer heat? Could it be the reality of midlife that is settling upon my soul? Could it be that half of my children are now adults and "on their own"? Could it be the thoughts of a dear friend (my age!) whose mortality may soon be coming to a close? Could it be the realization that the long Utah winter is fast approaching and that I will no longer be able to lounge in the grass on a fine summer evening?
Yes, I know I must pull myself together soon. I can and will do it. But, for now I'm just gonna

Amazing cat photo I must say. I totally understand about the melancholy thing...I always feel that way when school days are fast approaching.
Cute kitty!
I am with you. I will miss the Summer, but I must say after dragging the hose to keep new sod alive (read, what a blessing) it will be alright when the snow falls on it. But, I will miss the summer vegetables and red faces from too much sun. Water balloon volley ball on the weekends when we gather at my Mom's. Sandy green (purple) beans to wash and eat and so on.
Hang in there Julie. Get your fill of light while you can. :o)

Take one lazy day at a time and enjoy every minute of it, summer is too short in my opinion!
Great pictures!
I love your pictures. They are so cute.
I'm so sorry about your friend. It is never easy and I can feel the sadness in your words. Maybe you need to run away for a few days. You are welcome to run here if you would like to escape. I would love to have you! And I have a very soft shoulder to cry on and would be happy to share it with you. :)
I will continue to pray for comfort to be upon you. Grief can so often be an unpleasant experience - I hope it passes quickly for you. Hang in there!
Those pictures are precious... I've been feeling the same way and I'm not sure why. Just know that your post made me smile :)
Thinking of you... I'm so sorry about your friend.
I agree the heat is making me so lazy. I honestly thought that the weather here would be about the same as Denver .... eh, not so much! I'm no longer glistening, I'm full on sweating like a non-glowing lady :)
Love the cat! And your words are perfect!
You are a great photographer!
Awesome pictures!
Fantastic photos!
I'm with you, feeling "lack luster" lately.
I think it is absolutely an artform to enjoy a lazy day in this busy world (wink!).
Oh I hear ya!!!!
I can't stand that it is August. I want it to be summer for another few months.
Cute kitty.
I'm pretty sure if everyone could act like a cat there would be no fighting in the world.
Ever.
Great images! I'm feeling lazy myself. Don't worry. It's ok to do that once in a while!
Beautiful, sunny days stretch almost endlessly in Atlanta. Come visit. :)
No! Don't mention winter yet. Although, I was feeling the same way yesterday. It's still August though, and I will make the best of it!
Your cat pictures are amazing! :)
Are you feeling a little better now that you have a wonderful trip to look forward to? And I think a bit of melancholy never hurt anybody, as long as we manage to find a sunny spot sooner or later.
XOXOXOX
