A Simple Thing

Winter in Utah is gray.
Spring is green, hopeful, awakening.
These globe willows never fail me.
They are the first deciduous trees to burst free each March.
Green, hopeful, awakening.
A simple thing.
A joyful thing.

What a beautiful post. I notice willows are the first to come out here in Colorado as well. I'm counting every new blade of grass these days. Can't wait till we have a green landscape! Loved your thoughts.

Beautiful scene. Love the snowy mountains in the background...the way they frame the willow. Perfect. I'm ready for Spring too!

Those are my favorite trees! I was going to do a post just like the is one! ha ha... There is one of these trees right in the middle of town and it is so green and pretty right now. It's my favorite tree in town. Spring is on it's way and summer is right behind! Hooray! :)

A great juxtaposition - the green of emerging Spring as contrasted to the gray of Winter.

I love those trees, too. My favorite one is on 1350 and 520 (I think...) I watch for it every year!!

Except for my springing bulbs, it's my favorite sign of spring!!

I just noticed the globe willows in the valley too. They won't be green for a few weeks yet where I live but it makes me happy to see the signs of spring. Soon it will be the tulips and the fresia.
