Traveling Ritual

Can you guess where he went this time?
Brian arrived home safely this weekend from his third trip in a month. The past several years he has been traveling A LOT due largely in part to his Virtual Labs.
Another clue to his location
Lately I have noticed a ritual we have acquired each time he flies away from me.

Long hug and final kiss
I stand at the door and wait as he gets into his car.
"Be happy when I get back," he says.
"Come home safely to me," I respond.
"Love you!"
"Love you!"
This one definitely gives it away
The ritual continues at the airport via text messaging. Often Brian texts me either that he is through security, at the gate, or boarding. But always, right before take-off, I receive:

"They are closing the door. Love you. Bye."
and I respond
"Love you more! Be safe."

I probably shouldn't be so anxious when he travels, but I am. My brother is a pilot and reminds me that it is much safer to travel by plane than by car. Still . . . I am very good at worrying.

For now, I need our traveling ritual because I really do love this man and I really do want to grow old TOGETHER.

That is such a sweet post. My Brian and I feel the same way. I hate being apart and worry when he travels and he worries when I travel.

I honestly have no idea where this is...

That is such a cute post! I love the picture of you two together. SO CUTE!

My hubs travels a lot too. He is home just for this weekend after being gone for three weeks. Only one more week to go then he may be home for a couple. We do a ritual too.

I have no clue where those pictures were taken. I don't get out much.

As soon as I saw the River Parkway...San Antonio! Glad he got home to you safe and sound. I know exactly what you mean. My husband spent a lot of years traveling to Japan, Sweden, France, Mexico, Germany, Detroit...and on and on for work. I am SO glad he does not have to to that any more. I never slept well while he was gone and my whole world seemed so out of balance with him away, despite the phone calls and texts. The one benefit...LOTS of frequent flyer miles. We put those to good use! Love the photo...Wishing you much joy and many, many more happy years growing old together. Aren't we BLESSED women to be so in love with our husbands!

San Antonio, TX is the place! Brian took these photos on his iphone. The 1st and 3rd ones were taken at The Alamo and the 2nd is of the Riverwalk. I have never been there myself, but maybe some day.

no idea where he's at...

but I love the picture of you two.

I know just how you feel, I get so anxious when Zeke travels...

I try to think of it as a blessing. I feel like we have a really good marriage and we are really close. You two look very happy as well. Maybe all the traveling keeps us on our toes and we're more careful to speak kindly and show our love when they're home or something. You know, make each moment count more I guess?

hang in there :) it's always so wonderful when they get home safely

We have much of the same hubby travelling ritual at our house. I always look forward to that text right before they close the door of the plane and really love the one I receive when the wheels touch down.
